I am Rachel. I am the director and lead clinician at NAYA DAWN in Geelong. I am a Mental Health Social Worker, EMDR Therapist and Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher with a Bachelor of Social Work from Deakin University.
I have over 5 years experience in the industry in family support, group program delivery, out of home care, clinical services, and disability support.
In addition to my four-year degree I have undertaken extensive training and professional development. I now have specialised skills in understanding and treating trauma, grief, and mental health difficulties using a range of evidence-based and focused psychological strategies.
At Naya Dawn we offer a suite of social work, clinical and body-based approaches to suit the needs of all individuals. Our primary modalities are focused psychological strategies, EMDR Therapy, attachment-based play therapy, and trauma-informed yoga. We support children, adults and families.
Our process is collaborative and we work with you to establish goals and approaches that are specific to your individual needs. We are here to listen, support, and utilise our skills and knowledge to assist you to achieve your goals. In this sense, empowerment and self-determination are key values of the client-centred work we do!
We believe everyone deserves to be treated with kindness.
"There's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end" - Scott Adams.

We consider it extremely important to protect the wellbeing of everyone who access our services. We ensure this by working from a theoretical and evidence-based approach, accessing continued professional development and training, and adhering to ethical practice. We are trauma-informed and Neurodiversity affirming.
Naya (नया) is the Hindi word for "new"
Dawn means the beginning of a new day, a rebirth, and hope.
Together, Naya Dawn means a new beginning, a fresh start, a rebirth, and hope for the future! At Naya Dawn we provide evidence-based trauma and mental health support to support you to find hope for your future and an empowering new beginning!
